Display of Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
The Note 20 Ultra like the Galaxy S20 series now features a 120Hz refresh rate. If you wish to use 120Hz you must reduce the resolution to 1080p just like in the S20 series. It still cannot achieve full resolution at 120Hz like the OnePlus 8 Pro (and many other smartphones) can which is a disappointment. The good news is that I didn’t notice much of a drop in sharpness when utilising this in 1080p mode. Text is slightly blurrier but not by as much as I expected.

The Galaxy Note20 Ultra also includes a Laser Autofocus sensor, 5x Optical Zoom, and up to 50x Super-Resolution Zoom. I was quite amazed by how sharp the photographs remained even at 50x zoom. I tried this on some wildlife while strolling in north Austin. The new selfie filter allows you to warm or chill your appearance before taking a photo. The cameras also offer OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) and tracking AF for tracking subjects in the frame, which is useful. My favourite camera of the group was undoubtedly the Ultra-Wide camera with a 120-degree field of view. I used the camera to photograph a group of family members without having to back up into another room.

Some models include the Exynos 990 processor which is primarily designed for the international market whereas others have the considerably better Snapdragon 865+ processor. This not only provides 20% better performance which is a significant improvement but it also runs cooler and has a longer battery life. That’s completely insane!
Battery of Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
The battery life of the Note20 Ultra met my expectations. The Note20 Ultra’s battery is somewhat smaller than the Galaxy S20 Ultra’s battery with 4500 mAh against 5000 mAh. The Note20 Ultra was able to get me through a typical workday which included audio conferencing reading articles sending SMS taking notes in OneNote using maps and occasionally streaming videos. On lighter days when I didn’t use my phone as much I usually had 30% or more battery life left at the end of the day.
