The Huawei Mate X6, which will be announced in December 2024, marks a substantial development in foldable smartphone technology. Its design incorporates a book-style foldable construction, second-generation Kunlun Glass for increased durability, and an IPX8 grade for waterproofing. The device has two OLED displays: a 6.45-inch external panel with a resolution of 2440 x 1080 pixels and a 7.93-inch internal screen with 2440 x 2240 pixels. Both panels have a 1-120Hz LTPO variable refresh rate and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, resulting in smooth images and less eye strain.

The Mate X6 is powered by the Kirin 9020 engine, which is teamed with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, providing strong performance for multitasking and storage requirements. The smartphone runs EMUI 15.0, which is based on Android and provides a user-friendly interface with access to a variety of applications. Photography fans will value the Mate X6’s flexible camera setup. It has a triple rear camera arrangement that includes a 50MP main sensor with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0, a 40MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48MP periscope telephoto lens that provides 4x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. For selfies, there is an 8MP front camera.
